Hello all,

For my first post on the Odonata forum, here are 3 pictures of a Dragonfly photographied at the "Old Main in the Mountain" (White Mountain, New Hampshire, USA), September 12th, 2008.

Could it be a Variable Darner (Aeshna interrupta)??

This dragonfly is so colorful and Nature does so lovely living!!!

Thank you very much for you appreciated help :D

Welcome to the forum!

It could be a Variable Darner. That is one I have not seen.

Nice images.

Thank you Jim,

Finally, it will be an Aeshna sp. for 4 species have this pattern in NH in september.

To be able to identify the species I would have taken a lateral picture of the thorax.

The 4 species are:

A. interrupta;
A. constricta;
A. verticalis;
A. canadensis;

Cheers,

Michel
